A Portrait Photoshoot in Porto for a 50th Birthday

Turning fifty deserves more than dinner at a restaurant. For Ewelina, it became a journey to Porto and a personal photoshoot (styling included) by the Atlantic Ocean.

When Ewelina first wrote to me, she said:

"I came across your work and really connected with your natural, artistic style. I will be in Porto celebrating my 50th birthday and I am interested in a relaxed outdoor photo session - authentic and non-touristy, as a personal keepsake."

Reading her message, I had a feeling we were already speaking the same language, because those are exactly the kinds of photographs I love making - the ones that are less about ticking famous landmarks off a list and more about creating images that still feel honest when you look at them years later. For this session we chose the Atlantic coast, where the wide beach, warm evening light and large granite rocks create a natural frame for the person.

After the session, she wrote me this feedback:

“Hi Anka 😊 I’ve just looked through the photos and I’m truly amazed. They are absolutely beautiful! 🤍 To be honest, I didn’t know I looked like this. Whether you're turning thirty, fifty or seventy doesn't really matter. What matters is having something that brings you back to that version of yourself years later.
